Writing goals for Prep/Kindergarten

Would you like to set some writing goals for your Prep/Kindergarten students, but not sure where to start? This is the resource for you! These writing goals have been made specifically for Kindergarten students. And they are free!

 How to use these writing goals

• There are different ways you could use this resource. But one suggestion is to paste the goals on the inside cover of your students writing book. That way they are always close by.
• When you assess your students' writing to think about their next goal, highlight around the box.
• Each time you see the student achieving their goal, tick the box. You might like to see them achieving their goal 3 - 5 times, or more. You decide!
• When you are happy they have achieved their goal, highlight the whole box and write the date.

Then start the process again!

These writing goals are not in a specific order. It is best to look at your students' writing to think about what their next pressing goal might be. (Although the second page of goals are usually for later in the year).

 This writing goals resource is perfect for giving you an overview of what your students have been working on. They are also super handy when it comes to parent-teacher conferences!
